   What changed: Published by the EPSG on 25 September 2026. Version 11.0 extends the Volume's scope to instant payments, called Instant Credit Transfers (ICT) in the Volume, alongside card payments, and is the first version under the name SEPA Payments Standardisation (SPS) Volume (previously the SEPA Cards Standardisation (SCS) Volume). It consists of Books 1 to 7 and one annex. Book 2 (Functional Requirements) extends the requirements for Payment Devices and POIs to transactions initiated by ICT or with a card; Book 4 (Security) defines requirements to achieve a ‘single common set of SEPA security requirements’ for card and ICT transactions; Book 7 sets business principles and requirements for market access and participation in card payment processing and ICT; the tokenisation considerations are extended to ICT. The EPSG states that the Volume cycle towards version 12.0 has started.

   What changed: Version 10.0 of the SEPA Cards Standardisation (SCS) Volume, published by the ECSG, the association that has since expanded its scope beyond cards and become the European Payments Stakeholders Group (EPSG). Its requirements apply to card-based payments.
