Colombia's instant payment system Bre-B processed 638.69 million transactions in its first six months of operation, according to Banco de la República data as of April 5, 2026. The average transaction value was COP 157,193, approximately USD 43. Total accumulated payment value reached COP 100.3 trillion, with the system averaging 3.5 million transactions per day.

ACI Worldwide confirmed Bre-B crossed 500 million transactions on March 19, 2026, five months after launch. Over 100 million payment keys have been registered across the network, representing nearly three aliases per registered user across phone numbers, email addresses, and national identification numbers. The system reached 34 million registered users by early April, up from 31 million pre-registered before the October 2025 go-live.

Colombia's 52 million population implies Bre-B achieved approximately 65% registered user penetration within six months of launch. Pre-registration drove immediate network effects at go-live, a strategy that differentiated Bre-B from gradual-rollout approaches used by most instant payment systems. ACI Worldwide received the Central Banking FMI Services Retail Award for 2026 citing the implementation's speed and collaborative design with the central bank.
