Citi said on 29 September 2026 that it is the first bank to go live with multiple markets on the Swift payments scheme. The bank has enabled real-time payments in Australian dollars through the New Payments Platform, in sterling through Faster Payments and in Indian rupees through the Immediate Payment Service. The Swift payments scheme is available globally to the 12,500 financial institutions connected to Swift, and Citi is offering the capability to its participating bank clients.
