Federal Reserve Financial Services will launch a network intelligence API for FedNow Service participants on April 28, 2026. The tool provides receiver account-level data derived from historical FedNow transaction patterns.
Sending institutions can query the volume and value of recent transactions involving a receiver account across the FedNow network. Jack Henry & Associates tested the tool during development and confirmed it enriches transaction data before fraud review.
The Federal Reserve is also exploring Payee Name Verification for FedNow to confirm whether a payee's name matches account details before payment submission. The feature aims to mitigate authorized push-payment fraud on instant payment rails.
