KIR processed 192.21 million batch Elixir transactions in April 2026, a 1% volume decline year-on-year. Batch Elixir value reached PLN 858.25 billion, up 1% from April 2025. The combination of declining volume and rising value points to higher average transaction sizes. Express Elixir handled 57.49 million instant transactions worth PLN 30.86 billion in the same period. Instant volume grew 10% and value rose 16% year-on-year.

Express Elixir now accounts for nearly 30% of batch Elixir's transaction count, up from approximately 27% a year earlier. March 2026 set a record with 60.02 million instant transactions, the first month to surpass that threshold. BNP Paribas Bank Polska joined KIR's Euro Express Elixir on 14 April 2026. It is the second bank to offer instant euro payments through the platform after PKO Bank Polski joined in December 2025.

Poland's trajectory contrasts with the broader SEPA pattern. STEP2 SCT daily volumes fell 5.5% year-on-year in April 2026 to 26.8 million transactions as the Instant Payments Regulation pushes credit transfers onto instant rails. Batch Elixir volumes remain stable in a market where KIR operates both the batch and instant channels under a single clearing operator. KIR's cross-border Euro Elixir processed 4.64 million transactions worth EUR 34.44 billion in April, with value up 1% year-on-year.
