Paysera gained direct participant status in the European Central Bank's T2 settlement system following assessments by the ECB and the Bank of Lithuania. The Lithuanian e-money institution is the first in Europe to achieve this access level. T2 processes over EUR 2 trillion in daily transactions and had previously been restricted to central banks, commercial banks, central securities depositories, and national EU treasuries.

The change follows EU Regulation 2024/886, which entered into force in October 2025 and extended T2 access rights to non-bank financial institutions. Paysera processed 27.6 million transfers totalling EUR 23.3 billion in 2025. Eighty-two percent of those transfers were processed via SEPA Instant.

Direct access enables Paysera to settle interbank transactions in real time without routing through intermediary banks.
