India's Unified Payments Interface processed 22.64 billion transactions in March 2026. The figure surpasses the previous monthly high of 21.70 billion recorded in January. Transaction value reached ₹29.53 lakh crore.

Volume grew 24 percent year-on-year. Daily transaction counts averaged 730 million, marginally above February's 728 million. The month-on-month surge of 11 percent reflected the longer calendar month and a rebound from February's seasonal dip.

March's result brought UPI's FY26 total to approximately 241 billion transactions worth ₹314 lakh crore. UPI now accounts for an estimated 57 percent of all payment transactions in India by volume.
