Wise will launch direct PromptPay integration in Thailand on May 19, 2026. Customers can send money to any PromptPay-registered mobile number or Citizen ID. The service includes scan-and-pay functionality for PromptPay QR and ThaiQR codes at merchants and street vendors across the country.
The launch follows Wise's licensing as a regulated entity under the Bank of Thailand. Thai customers will also gain access to multi-currency accounts holding over 40 currencies and physical Wise cards delivered locally. Transfers between two non-Thai bank accounts through the Thailand entity will no longer be supported.
