What changed: Policy statement confirming CHAPS settlement will open at 01:30 (from current 06:00) under optional participation model, with go-live targeted September 2027. BoE coordinating readiness workstream with all CHAPS direct participants. The follow-up consultation paper on near-24/7 extension was published May 18, 2026 (see boe-chaps-near-24x7-consultation-2026 entry). Proposes three-phase approach through to 22x6/22x7 operations not before 2031.
