New timeline under consultation with banks, central banks, and payment market infrastructures; update expected by December 2026. On 27 August 2026 the Bank of England also deferred its November 2026 RTGS standards release in its entirety, including the messaging standards for CHAPS payments, to stay aligned with Swift; revised timelines are to follow.
