Al Etihad Payments, the payments subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE, announced on April 10 that its Aani instant payments platform has surpassed 12.5 million registered users. The platform connects 74 licensed financial institutions, with banks representing 85 percent of the network.
Aani recorded a sixfold year-on-year increase in the number of transfers during the reporting period. Approximately 774,000 merchants across the UAE have adopted the platform as a payment solution.
In February 2025, Aani had 1.5 million registered users across 57 financial institutions.
