April 2026 milestone: 12.5 million registered users, ~774,000 merchants. Institution breakdown: 85% banks, 10% exchange houses, 5% digital wallets and finance companies. The 25,000 daily transfers via mobile-number proxy disclosed in April 2026 are a subset, not total throughput. The only absolute throughput figure on record is Al Etihad Payments' April 2025 statement, carried in a Khaleej Times supplement, of more than 500,000 transactions a day with 27% month-on-month growth; AEP has published no 2026 total or value figure.
