India Extends Credit Line on UPI to Kisan Credit Card and MUDRA Borrowers

Priority-sector borrowers in India can now spend from sanctioned Kisan Credit Card and MUDRA limits at merchants over UPI rails rather than drawing cash or seeking a fresh disbursal.

India's Department of Financial Services extended the Credit Line on UPI facility to Kisan Credit Card holders and Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana borrowers at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai on September 9, 2026. Ten banks have enabled Credit Line on UPI for Kisan Credit Card account holders.

Eight banks have enabled the facility for Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana beneficiaries, with more expected to join in the coming months.
