More Than 48,000 Merchants Have Processed Wero Transactions, EPI Says

Belgian payment provider Payworld has joined the providers enabling Wero acceptance among Belgian merchants.

The European Payments Initiative said on 16 September 2026 that more than 48,000 merchants across Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands have processed Wero transactions.

Payworld's integration lets Belgian consumers pay from their bank account by scanning a Wero QR code displayed on a Payworld payment terminal.

EPI plans broader point-of-sale availability for Wero in France and Germany progressively from 2027.
