EXPANDING

Wero is the European Payments Initiative's (EPI) account-to-account digital wallet, built on SEPA Instant (SCT Inst) rails and launched in July 2024. It is expanding from person-to-person payments into e-commerce and point-of-sale checkout, and several national payment schemes are on announced migration or integration paths to Wero (Payconiq in Belgium and Luxembourg; iDEAL co-branding in the Netherlands).
