Payconiq's payment platform will end on 30 September 2026. EPI is partnering with BIL, BGL BNP Paribas, Banque Raiffeisen, POST Luxembourg and Spuerkeess to bring Wero to consumers in Luxembourg.
Existing Payconiq QR codes on invoices and in store will remain usable until the end of 2026 and can be scanned directly through the Wero app.
Update (2026-09-30): EPI said on 16 September 2026 that around 600 merchants in Luxembourg accepted Wero at that date and that it expected more than 2,000 to do so by the end of the month. It also expected Luxembourg to cover Wero's full range of currently available use cases by then: person-to-person, e-commerce, invoice and in-store payments. In a release dated 30 September, EPI described Belgium and Luxembourg as now offering that full range, including in-store payments. The release gives no merchant count.
Banks in Luxembourg describe the cut-over in their own customer notices. BIL says the Payconiq app can be used until 30 September 2026 and will be deactivated after that date. Spuerkeess says that from October only Wero will be available for payments. POST says the change is not automatic and tells customers to link their account to Wero now.
