ACI Worldwide joined the European Payments Initiative on June 15 as a technical service provider. The company will integrate EPI's Wero wallet onto its Payments Orchestration Platform. Merchants and financial intermediaries across Europe will be able to offer Wero through ACI's existing payment processing infrastructure.
ACI separately disclosed on June 16 that it is powering Rabobank's Wero instant payments processing in the Netherlands. The project transitions iDEAL payment volumes from standard SEPA Credit Transfer rails to SEPA Instant Credit Transfer infrastructure. Rabobank expects the migration to complete by end of 2027.
Wero serves 55 million users across France, Germany, Belgium, and Luxembourg. E-commerce payments are live in Germany and Belgium, with progressive rollout underway in France.
