December 2025 delivered clear evidence that PIX has entered a new phase of corporate adoption. Data from the Banco Central do Brasil shows that B2B transactions on the instant payment network reached 263 million in December 2025, a 50.3 percent increase from 175 million in December 2024. The monthly value of B2B transfers hit R$ 1.5 trillion, up from approximately R$ 1 trillion a year earlier, underscoring the speed at which Brazilian firms are migrating treasury flows to the real-time rail.

The composition of PIX traffic shifted significantly over the course of 2025. In the first quarter, P2P still led at 46 percent of total transaction volume, followed by P2B at 41 percent and B2P at 9 percent. By September 2025, person-to-business transactions surpassed peer-to-peer transfers for the first time, a watershed moment that confirmed PIX's evolution from a transfer tool into a comprehensive payment network. As for total value transacted, B2B transactions represent 46 percent of the total, followed by P2P operations at 28 percent, with the balance distributed across P2B and government transactions.

The growth is underpinned by broader changes in Brazil's business banking landscape. Nubank reported that its business accounts grew 31 percent in 2024 to reach 4.7 million small business customers, many of whom rely on PIX as their primary payment mechanism. The elimination of friction and fees associated with traditional TED transfers and boletos has created incentives for small and medium enterprises to consolidate payment operations on the instant rail. Since PIX's launch, purchases by companies have grown consistently, with transaction value more than doubling in 2025.

The December-to-December comparison eliminates seasonal distortions, confirming that the growth represents structural economic adoption rather than a temporary holiday increase, according to PYMNTS analysis. With PIX Automatico now handling recurring B2B obligations since its June 2025 launch and PIX por Aproximacao opening new merchant acceptance channels, the corporate use case for PIX continues to expand beyond basic transfers into a comprehensive business payment infrastructure.
