The Reserve Bank of India's new data centre in Bhubaneswar will house the central bank's mission-critical systems, including RTGS and NEFT, Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said at the inauguration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the data centre and the Cybersecurity Training Institute in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on 25 October 2026.
The Training Institute will build expertise in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, she said.
The RBI's announcement does not state when RTGS and NEFT processing will begin running from the Bhubaneswar site.
