Banrep RIFI 2026 (covering 2025 data) reports CUD average daily settled value rose 19.5% year-on-year, while transaction count fell 15%, reflecting larger simultaneous operations and shifts in the contraction window. This continues the 2024 pattern of value growth outpacing volume. Since October 2025, Colombia's instant payment system Bre-B settles in real time through CUD deposit accounts at Banco de la República; between October 6, 2025 and January 31, 2026, Bre-B processed 370.4 million operations totaling COP 59 trillion via this settlement channel. Banrep plans to launch Drixi, a new public interoperable low-value payment system, alongside private entrant Gou Payments from Grupo AVAL in 2026. As of August 29, 2026.
