Payments Canada operates two core systems: Lynx (RTGS, launched 2021) and ACSS (batch ACH). The Real-Time Rail (RTR) - Canada's instant payment system - is under construction (build 60% complete Q1 2025, industry testing 2026, launch expected late 2026/early 2027). RTR will use Interac for the exchange component and settle via Lynx.
