Weixin Pay (WeChat Pay) became the third Chinese payment platform (after UnionPay and Alipay) to connect with NAPAS VietQRGlobal for cross-border QR payments, announced August 6, 2026. Over 1 billion Weixin Pay users can scan VietQRGlobal codes at Vietnamese merchants. BIDV serves as settlement bank. Reverse direction (Vietnamese users paying in China) planned. Vietnam received 2.7M Chinese visitors in H1 2026 (22% of 12.3M total international arrivals, +15% YoY).
