The Bank of Central African States joined the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System on July 9, 2026. The membership connects Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Chad to the continental payment network.

The expanded network includes more than 190 commercial banks and fintechs as participants, supported by 16 payment switches. A separate pilot phase with the Central Bank of West African States is also scheduled to commence later this year.

BEAC and PAPSS will work through the end of 2026 to integrate CEMAC financial institutions into the system.
