Bank of America announced on June 4 that it will launch a cross-border real-time payments service in the third quarter of 2026. The offering connects corporate, commercial, and financial institution clients to instant payment networks in multiple countries. Initial corridors will reach SPEI, the Faster Payments Service, and the Unified Payments Interface.
Clients will access the service through Swift or their existing CashPro connectivity via APIs or host-to-host channels. Funds will be delivered to beneficiaries in local currency with real-time tracking and full-principal preservation.
The service targets high-volume, low-value flows such as international remittances, gig-worker payouts, and e-commerce marketplace vendor payments. Cross-border person-to-person flows are projected to increase 58% by 2032.
