DuitNow QR Transactions Double to Three Billion in 2025 as Malaysia E-Payments Hit 18.4 Billion

Bank Negara Malaysia reported on March 31 that total e-payment transactions rose 25 percent to 18.4 billion in 2025. DuitNow QR transaction volume doubled from 1.5 billion to three billion. The system's registered merchant touchpoints expanded to nearly three million by the end of the year.
E-payment growth averaged 17 percent annually between 2022 and 2025, exceeding the Financial Sector Blueprint target of 15 percent compound annual growth. Contactless card and QR payments rose 20.3 percent to two billion transactions.
