Settlement of euro and Danish krone transactions was delayed on July 6 when T2 experienced a processing disruption. Payment instructions were queued until the system was restored within an hour.
A similar disruption occurred on June 29. The ECB attributed both incidents to a software update deployed in June 2026 that had introduced an issue which has since been addressed.
T2 settles values exceeding €1.9 trillion per business day across the euro area. The system experienced a seven-hour outage in February 2025 due to a separate hardware failure.
