The European Payments Council opened a public consultation on version 2.0 of its Verification of Payee scheme rulebook on April 1, 2026. The consultation runs for three months until June 30. The VoP scheme became mandatory for eurozone payment service providers in October 2025 under the Instant Payments Regulation.
The VoP review runs parallel to the SCT Inst scheme rulebook consultation (EPC009-26), which opened on March 13 with five proposed change requests. Approved VoP 2.0 changes are expected to be published in November 2026.
