KIR Reports Express Elixir Hit New Monthly Record in May as Polish Batch Volumes Continue to Slide

KIR reported that Express Elixir processed 60.83 million instant transactions in May 2026, setting a new monthly record. Transaction value reached PLN 31.11 billion, a year-on-year increase of 18 percent. Volume grew 13 percent compared with May 2025.

Batch Elixir processed 183.54 million transactions worth PLN 791.29 billion in May, a 2 percent decline in volume against the same month last year. Euro Elixir handled 4.49 million transactions at EUR 33.25 billion, with volume down 4 percent but value up 2 percent year-on-year.

Express Elixir first crossed 60 million monthly transactions in March 2026 at 60.02 million before dropping to 57.49 million in April. May's 60.83 million is the second month above 60 million in 2026. Instant payments now represent roughly 25 percent of KIR's PLN-denominated transaction volume, up from 22 percent a year ago.
