PayNet processed 8.44 billion digital payment transactions in 2025. Bank transaction volumes grew 30.69% year-on-year. Non-bank volumes rose 71.7%. DuitNow QR more than doubled to three billion transactions from 1.5 billion in 2024. The DuitNow QR network added 681,250 new acceptance points during the year, including 267,780 among micro, small and medium enterprises. The nationwide total now exceeds three million touchpoints.

Cross-border QR transactions grew 2.5 times to 29.7 million in 2025. A bilateral QR payment corridor with Cambodia launched during the year, joining existing links with Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and China. India is expected to connect in 2026. PayNet processed an average of 260 transactions per second. Service availability reached 99.995%.

Non-urban transaction volumes tripled year-on-year in Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah. The pattern across these three northern and northeastern states indicates QR payment adoption has moved beyond Malaysia's major urban centres into mainstream commercial use, driven by MSME merchant onboarding in lower-density areas.
