TIPS settled an average of 10,829,211 transactions daily in April 2026. The Eurosystem's instant payment platform exceeded ten million daily operations for the first time. March 2026 averaged 9,979,548 transactions across EUR, SEK, and DKK.
Danish krone volumes drove the April milestone. DKK transactions averaged 3,198,729 per day, up 52 percent from March's 2,102,797. Euro transactions averaged 4,539,019 per day, down 4.3 percent from March's 4,743,120. Swedish krona held steady at 3,091,463 per day.
Euro daily settlement values remained at €5.7 billion in April, more than double the 2025 full-year average of €2.17 billion. TIPS processed 2.47 billion instant payments across all currencies in 2025, growing 82.5 percent from 2024. ECB, Danmarks Nationalbank, and Sveriges Riksbank formally activated the TIPS cross-currency settlement service on June 10, 2026. The service enables payment providers to settle instant transfers across EUR, SEK, and DKK simultaneously in central bank money. Norway's Norges Bank is scheduled to connect to TIPS for Norwegian krone settlement in the first half of 2028, adding a fourth currency to the platform.
