Early Warning Services announced on June 11 that Zelle will expand to India for cross-border remittances. India is the world's largest remittance-receiving country. Initial availability is expected before the end of 2026.
The company also unveiled ZelleUSD, a proprietary U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin for international markets. Zelle processed over $1.2 trillion in domestic payments in 2025.
Zelle will compete with established remittance providers including Remitly and PayPal's Xoom in the India corridor. India's UPI network processed more than 21 billion transactions monthly in early 2026.
