What changed: Version 5.0 of June 2026, part of the RTP Technical Specifications. It removes the 1 July 2026 compliance-date option and adds truncation guidance for name fields. From 1 February 2027 a Receiving Participant must display the required credit transfer (pacs.008) fields to the receiving customer; the February 2026 revision it supersedes had allowed a choice between an interim and a final approach until 31 January 2027. For Participants that have selected a Request for Payment message persona, the 5.0 requirements for Requests for Payment and responses replace the 3.0 requirements on the date the Participant goes live with the 5.0 Message Specification.
