President Lula signed Lei 15.479/2026, known as PIX Pensão, on July 30, 2026. The law amends the Code of Civil Procedure to create a framework for automatic PIX-based child support transfers. Judges may order financial institutions to execute monthly automatic transfers from debtors' bank accounts directly to beneficiaries.
Judicial orders must specify payment amounts, obligation duration, and value adjustment criteria. When a debtor's account has insufficient funds, supervisors may freeze assets up to the outstanding amount.
The law was proposed as PL 4.978/2023 by Deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP). The legislation also mandates the National Justice Council to publish anonymized statistics on child support lawsuits. Lei 15.479/2026 takes effect in July 2027.
