PIX Automatico, Brazil's recurring instant payment feature operated by Banco Central do Brasil, completed its first year of operation on June 16, 2026. Active enrollments grew at an average monthly rate of 177 percent since launch, according to data from EBANX. EBANX processes 38 percent of all PIX Automatico transactions in Brazil.
Transaction volumes scaled at 161 percent per month. Total transaction value grew by 53 percent monthly. Business-to-business transactions accounted for less than five percent of total transaction count. B2B represented nearly 90 percent of the financial volume processed. The average B2B ticket size was approximately USD 3,200.
Sixty-four percent of consumers paying with PIX Automatico are brand-new subscribers to the platforms they use. Users aged 30 and above account for nearly four in five transactions. The 40-to-49 age group leads adoption at 24 percent.
Nord Security reported that six months after integrating PIX Automatico through EBANX, the feature accounted for 28 percent of the company's total payment volume in Brazil. Thirty-five percent of Nord Security's user base in Brazil had adopted the payment method within that period.
BCB mandated PIX Automatico participation for all PIX-connected institutions from October 2025 under Resolution 402.
