Lynx settled a daily average of CAD 352.06 billion over the first nine months of 2026. Payments Canada reported a daily average value of CAD 371.9 billion for Lynx in calendar 2025. The 2026 nine-month average is 5.3 percent below the 2025 figure. Daily volume averaged 52,821 payment items over the same nine months. Lynx averaged 54,229 items a day in 2025.
The nine months to September 2026 carried 9,983,158 payment items across 189 business days. Those items were worth CAD 66.54 trillion. Daily value averaged CAD 317.35 billion in August and CAD 389.97 billion in March. September settled 54,911 items a day, up from 51,428 in August.
Average value per payment item worked out to about CAD 6.67 million over the nine months to September 2026. The comparable 2025 figure was about CAD 6.86 million, so the decline in value outpaced the decline in item count. The Payments Canada summary reports Lynx volume and value month by month. Later Payments Canada reporting will show whether September's rebound in daily volume held.
