Albania joined SEPA on November 5, 2025, becoming the first Western Balkans country in the scheme. In the first six months of membership, Albanian banks processed approximately 363,000 SEPA credit transfers worth EUR 4.3 billion. Cross-border transfer fees for small-to-medium payments dropped from an average of 0.76% to 0.08% following SEPA accession. The daily value on this record is derived from the Bank of Albania's 2024 annual AIPS total over roughly 247 settlement days; the annual report publishes a daily transaction count but not a daily value. AIPS EURO, the separate euro-denominated domestic system, is not included in these figures.
