Turkey was an early RTGS adopter (1992, one of first in region). CBRT develops all systems in-house. EFT/ESTS share a single interface called SWITCH over the private TICNET network. In 2024, EFT processed 2.9M transactions worth TRY 508.14T (daily avg TRY 2.03T, up 78% from 2023; daily avg 11,600 messages, down from 12,900 in 2023). FAST processed 4.6B transactions worth TRY 27.49T in 2024 (42 participants; peak 25M payments/day on November 15, 2024; daily avg 12.6M messages). RPS processed 602.5M transactions worth TRY 286.2T in 2024 (-22.4% YoY). RPS decline driven by retail migration to FAST, launched January 2021.
