NBRM signed letter of intent for TIPS Clone initiative with Banca d'Italia Governor Fabio Panetta. North Macedonia is expected to join the TIPS Clone instant payment settlement platform in the second onboarding window scheduled November 2026, alongside Albania and Kosovo. The platform went live July 20, 2026 for Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro. In July 2026 the National Bank, banks and other MIPS participants completed the first test cycle of the new ISO 20022-based MIPS solution under an EU-funded capacity-building project that also establishes a data warehouse for external statistics; the National Bank said the test confirmed readiness for the next implementation phases.
