RTGSReGIS is Romania's Real-Time Gross Settlement system, operated by TransFonD under National Bank of Romania (BNR) oversight. It ensures final and irrevocable settlement of large-value and urgent RON payments. Participants include commercial banks, the State Treasury, and authorized clearing houses.

RoPay 2.0 instant payment scheme entered force September 1, 2025 (approved by BNR in original form May 2024). Participating banks as of early 2026: CEC Bank, Libra Bank, BRD-Groupe Societe Generale, ING Bank, BCR, Banca Transilvania, Vista Bank, Salt Bank. Raiffeisen and Unicredit in implementation process. Payments initiated via mobile banking apps using QR code, phone number, or contactless; completed in max 10 seconds, 24/7. TransFonD instant payments (Plati instant) service also available to 15 banks including Patria Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, Revolut Bank.
