CBO launched this new RTGS on June 18, 2023, replacing the older system. Operates 24/7 with real-time liquidity monitoring and gridlock resolution. Participants include Ministry of Finance, commercial banks (Bank Muscat, Bank Dhofar, etc.), and Muscat Clearing and Depository Company. Oman joined AFAQ GCC cross-border payments on May 29, 2024. First commercial banks on AFAQ: Bank Muscat and Bank Dhofar.
