Bank Al-Maghrib and GSIMT launched Virement Instantane on 1 June 2023. Transfers between accounts at different Moroccan banks complete in under 20 seconds and the service is available around the clock every day of the week. The platform is ISO 20022 native and is operated by GSIMT under Bank Al-Maghrib oversight. A per-transfer cap of MAD 20,000 applied during the transitional period at launch, when the service was offered free of charge for three months, after which each participating bank set its own fee schedule.
