Central Bank of Liberia Executive Governor Henry F. Saamoi disclosed the total, which stood at more than 5.3 million transactions as of 31 August 2026, at the MojaCom 32 conference in Accra, Ghana, in remarks reported on 1 October 2026.

About 4.2 million of the transactions were conducted in Liberian dollars, valued at more than L$4.1 billion. The other 1.1 million were US dollar transactions, valued at US$22.2 million.

Saamoi set out the launch of the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System in Liberia and the deployment of the Inclusive Instant Payment System as the two achievements of the central bank's payment modernisation agenda. The switch provides real-time interoperability between the country's two largest mobile money providers, Lonestar Cell MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money Liberia.
