According to a Brasil 247 analysis of payment-system data, Pix settled 1.57 billion transfers between 24 and 30 September 2026. That was 3.1 percent fewer than in the week immediately before and 7.5 percent below the average of the three preceding weeks. Brasil 247 said it was the largest fall for the final week of September since 2022.
Final weeks of September had already shown week-on-week declines in earlier years, but the drop was sharper in 2026 on both measures. The fall against the previous week had ranged from 1.9 percent in 2025 to 2.4 percent in 2023 before reaching 3.1 percent in 2026. Against the average of the three preceding weeks, the 7.5 percent decline was the largest in the September series, above the previous high of 6.7 percent in 2025.
The provisional measure prohibiting the operation, offer, intermediation and advertising of fixed-odds betting across Brazil was issued on 25 September 2026, inside the measured week.
On a week-on-week basis, value moved in the opposite direction: compared with the immediately preceding week, the financial volume transferred rose 5.3 percent and the average value per operation increased 8.7 percent. Against the three-week average, value fell only 1.2 percent while the number of operations fell 7.5 percent, leaving the average value per Pix 6.8 percent higher.
