PayPal announced on April 13 that Pix is now available through PayPal Complete Payments in Brazil. The integration allows small and medium-sized merchants to accept Pix at checkout alongside existing PayPal payment methods. More than 170 million Brazilians use Pix for daily transactions.
Pix recorded more than 7 billion transactions in January 2026, moving over R$3 trillion in a single month. The system now accounts for approximately one-third of Brazil's online sales value. Industry projections put Pix at 40% of Brazil's online payments by the end of 2026.
PayPal has operated in Brazil for 15 years. The company launched its Complete Payments platform in the country in 2025. Latin America's digital commerce market is projected to reach $944 billion by 2026.
