Instrução Normativa BCB nº 767, of 30 July 2026, published in the Diário Oficial da União on 31 July 2026, sets 26 October 2026 as the date on which the changes to sections 10.1 and 20.1.5 of the Pix DICT Operational Manual take effect. Those changes were introduced by Instrução Normativa BCB nº 766 of 27 July 2026, which published version 8.5 of the Manual Operacional do Diretório de Identificadores de Contas Transacionais, the manual that forms part of the Pix Regulation.

According to Instrução Normativa BCB nº 766, the changes give Pix infraction notifications the tracking-graph layer of the transaction under analysis. Section 10.1, 'Notificação de infração para solicitação de devolução', gains the attribute 'Profundidade no grafo' (TransactionDepth), and section 20.1.5, 'Análise', is also changed.

Article 3 of Instrução Normativa BCB nº 766 originally set 10 August 2026 for the changes to sections 10.1 and 20.1.5, and 1 September 2026 for the changes to sections 20.1.1, 20.1.9 and 20.2 together with the revocation under its article 2. Instrução Normativa BCB nº 767 gave new wording to both provisions, keeping 1 September for sections 20.1.1, 20.1.9 and 20.2 and moving sections 10.1 and 20.1.5 and the revocation to 26 October 2026. That revocation covers Instrução Normativa BCB nº 752 of 1 July 2026. Of the two dates now in force, 1 September 2026 has passed, which leaves 26 October as the second and last step for Pix participants working through the manual.

Banco Central do Brasil's Sistema de Pagamentos Instantâneos (SPI) processed 7.1 billion Pix transactions in September 2026, according to central bank data reported by Agência Brasil. Participants have until 26 October to apply both remaining sections of the manual.
