Swift will implement a deferred and partial Standards Release 2026 on 12 June 2027. That release consists of changes to all MT messages excluding Category 1, together with ISO 20022 funds, securities, tracker and exceptions and investigations messages. All change requests related to cross-border payments, covering MT Category 1, ISO 20022 CBPR+, SCORE+ and SwiftGo messages, were extracted from Standards Release 2026 and postponed to a future Standards Release. Clearstream states that the confirmed June implementation relates solely to the securities-related scope of SR2026 and that the timeline for the payments-related standards changes remains under industry review. The structured postal address requirement for CBPR+ messages therefore carries no implementation date.
The ECB announced on 4 September 2026 that the November 2026 TARGET Services deployment would move from 14 November to 28 November 2026. The shift covers T2, T2S, TIPS and the Eurosystem Collateral Management System. In the same announcement, the ECB said it would introduce a temporary measure in T2 allowing fully unstructured postal addresses in T2 RTGS messages to continue to be used for a limited period. Swift will agree with its community which remaining change requests become part of Standards Release 2027. Clearstream says that decision will be communicated before the end of 2026.
