The Eurosystem started deploying TIPS Release R2026.JUN to production on May 27, 2026. Participant go-live is scheduled for June 8. The ECB's Market Infrastructure Board approved the deployment on May 21, following user testing that ran from January 22 through March 30.
The release upgrades all TIPS message formats from ISO Maintenance Release 2019 to Maintenance Release 2024, covering five years of accumulated standards updates as part of the Eurosystem's ISO 20022 unfreeze strategy. The upgrade is coordinated with companion change requests for T2 and T2S, aligning messaging across the entire TARGET platform.
R2026.JUN also incorporates settlement changes for the European Payment Council's One-Leg-Out Instant Credit Transfer scheme. Guideline ECB/2026/11, adopted by the Governing Council on May 4, brings OCT Inst into the TARGET legal framework with an effective date of July 1, 2026.
